Tow floats · Swim buoys · 28 litres of dry storage
Tow Floats & Swim Buoys for Open Water Swimming
A tow float is a brightly coloured inflatable buoy that open water swimmers tow behind them on a waist belt, so boats, paddlers and lifeguards can see them. Ours doubles as a 28 litre dry bag, so your phone, keys and a dry layer swim with you and are still dry when you get out.

The float you can actually put things in
Most tow floats are just a bag of air. This one is 28 litres of proper dry storage, which is the difference between leaving your things on a beach and taking them with you. Inside it goes:
- Wallet or purse
- Keys
- Flip-flops
- A dry t-shirt
- Shorts
- Your phone, in the case provided
The waterproof phone case is included and is worth £7 on its own. It fits large and small smartphones, and the windows are clear enough to shoot photos and video or track the swim on Strava without ever opening it.
Covered by our 5 year guarantee — register it and if any component fails we repair or replace it free of charge.
Being seen is the whole point
A swimmer’s head is almost invisible from a boat at water level, especially in chop or low sun. A bright float on the surface two metres behind you is not. That is what a tow float is for, and everything else it does is a bonus.
Highly visible
Orange, pink or light green — chosen to stand out against grey British water so boats, paddlers and lifeguards can spot you.
Whistle included
For getting attention if you need it, so you are not relying on being heard over wind and water.
Two air chambers
Enough support to stop for a breather or a chat mid-swim — but it should not be relied on as a safety device.
To be completely clear, because it matters: a tow float is a visibility aid, not a buoyancy aid. It will hold you up while you rest, but it is not a life jacket and should never be treated as one. Swim within your limits, ideally with other people, and know how you are getting out before you get in.
